Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels e.V.
As a professional association, the Boersenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels e.V.,
the German book trade association, represents the interest of the
manufacturing and distributing book industry in Germany.
The Boersenverein unites all trade levels of this industrial branch
under one roof.
The guiding idea of the Boersenverein is that "books move ideas"
and supports the free distribution of the written word. The association
organizes the Frankfurt book fair and annually awards the peace
prize of the German book trade. The
Boersenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels e.V.
sees itself as the sector’s mouthpiece and acts
as an adviser for the public and politics.
Approximately 6,500 publishing houses, book stores and
antiquarian book sellers, middlemen and publishing representatives
are members of the association.
VUB Printmedia has been a member of the Boersenverein
since 1848. Christian Preuss Neudorf had been a member of the association's
retail bookseller committee from 2000 until 2003.
