After Blackwell, a small town in Southeastern Massachusetts, experiences three separate murders, all with the same modus operandi, Jacob Reason arrives to join a former mentor's practice. Before long he encounters an old love and finds himself knee deep in clues as to the identity of the Blackwell strangler. The action in this story occurs in the 1980's.
Gil Brinckerhoff was born and raised in New York City and Long Island. During his early teens he spent a memorable three years in Japan. He and his wife live on Cape Cod in the village of Yarmouth Port. After under-graduate training in physics, he served a two-year hitch in the army and then attended medical school at the George Washington University. After completing a residency in dermatology at Boston University School of Medicine, he opened an office and joined the staff of the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. Gil has long been fascinated by the variety of human temperament and the psychopathologies exhibited by his fellow man. Out of that interest grew the characters in this novel.
